Weekend Wanders collects as little personal information as practical. The planner works without an account.

Plans, completed places and saved events

Your passport, day plan and saved-event choices stay in your browser using local storage. Weekend Wanders does not receive them. Clearing this site’s browser data removes them.

Your current location

Location is requested only when you choose “Locate me”. It is used in your browser to show your pin, distances and route origin. It is not saved by Weekend Wanders or attached to a suggestion.

Suggestions and corrections

If you submit an idea, Weekend Wanders stores the idea, its category, submission time, a reference number and any name or email you choose to provide. Basic technical information such as your browser type is retained to operate and protect the request system. Your email is used only to discuss that request.

Optional support payments

Stripe processes donations. Weekend Wanders never receives or stores your card number. It records the donation amount, currency, Stripe session reference and, if supplied through Stripe, the payer email so a payment can be reconciled with a suggestion.

Service providers and disclosure

The site runs on a dedicated Australian-hosted service and uses Cloudflare for delivery and security, Stripe for payments, Wikimedia Commons for attributed destination photos, official event and weather sources, and a transactional email provider if enabled. Information is not sold or used for third-party advertising.

Retention and requests

Suggestion and donation records are kept while they are needed to operate Weekend Wanders, respond to requests, prevent abuse and meet financial record-keeping obligations. To ask for access, correction or deletion of information you supplied, email [email protected] and include your Weekend Wanders reference number if you have one.
